Year of Joyfully Backing Off

An HRB article on ‘over collaboration’ pointed to the distressing state of mid-managers.  By some accounts, the average manager now spends up to 90% of his or her time every day in meetings – up from about 50% 10 years ago.  As a consequence, night and weekends are spent catching up on the real or core work of a manager.  Talent leaders need to be mindful of this overload when planning new initiatives.  This note provides a reminder to ‘clean house’ from time to time.  Link
